The berlinHistory app offers a critical resource by pinpointing the locations of important historical sites, buildings, and events. This innovative tool effectively reveals the hidden dimensions of Berlin's past for both locals and visitors alike.

While there are various websites and apps dedicated to Berlin's history, many suffer from limited visibility, infrequent updates, and a narrow audience. In contrast, the berlinHistory app aspires to be a comprehensive platform encompassing all facets of the city’s historical narrative.

In collaboration with Berlin's historical and cultural institutions, the berlinHistory app has established a “digital museum” that curates a wide array of historical content, forming meaningful thematic connections and ensuring user accessibility. This continually evolving platform is designed for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, remaining free and devoid of advertisements.

The app features multilingual texts on significant sites, themes, and eras, enhanced with before-and-after photographs. Users can also access numerous Points of Interest (POIs) that include historical video footage and audio recordings of personal accounts.

Additionally, the app provides audio-guided thematic walking tours that highlight historically relevant locales beyond traditional tourist routes.

A variety of display options—including thematic view, list view, and epoch view—empower users to filter content according to their preferences, thereby enhancing their overall experience.
